How to Enable USB Debugging on Broken Screen Phone?

Part 1. Enable USB Debugging on Good Screen Android Phone

Android 5.0 to 7.0
If you want to enable USB Debugging on Android 5.0 to 7.0 with the devices like Samsung Galaxy , LG G4 and so on, you can follow the steps as below:

Step 1. On your Android phone, find the Settings menu, hit "About Phone" option. Scroll down and find "Build number", then hit it for 7 times before you get the pop-up note as "You are now a developer".

Step 2. Back to the previous screen on setting, choose the "Developer Options" option to tap. In the next screen, tick the box next to "USB debugging".  Then you will get the pop-up message, just tap the “OK” and you will finish enabling USB debugging.

Android 4.2 or Newer

For the devices which run Android Android 4.2 or later, such as Samsung Galaxy S6/S5, just follow the steps as below to do the enable USB debugging.

Step 1. On Android phone, go to app "Settings", and tap "About Phone".
Step 2. You will find the "Build number" under the About phone column, then tap for 7 times to get a note "You are under developer mode".
Step 3. Now go back to "Setting" step, you will find the "Developer options" shown, tap it.
Step 4. The last step, check the box to choose "USB debugging", and then it is done.

Android 3.0 to 4.1

What if your phone is Android 3.0 to 4.1? It is much more convenient, we also provide you the steps. To enable USB debugging, just go to "Settings > choose Developer options > tick the box next to USB debugging"

Android 2.3 or Earlier
When your phone runs Android 2.3 or the earlier version, you are allowed to do enable USB debugging as below:

Step 1: Go to “Setting” app.
Step 2: Choose the “Applications” in the screen.
Step 3: Tick the box next to “Unknown source” and tap "Development".
Step 4: Check the box next to the option of "USB debugging" .

Part 2: How to Enable USB Debugging on Android with Broken Screen?

Here’s the steps:

Step 1. Download and Install Android Data Recovery

Two broken type for you to choose, one is "Touch cannot be used or cannot enter the system" and the other is "Black screen (or the screen is broken)". You can select one which is suitable to your phone.

Step 4. Enter Download Mode


To enter the download mode on your Android device, you need to Power off Android>Press "Home">"Power" and "Volume-">Press "Volume+".

Now, connect your Android to the computer via USB cable and it will start downloading recovery package for you.

Step 5. Recover Data from Android without USB Debugging


In this step, it is time to recover the data from broken screen Android. Once finishing choosing the files types, click the “Recover” to start the recovery process.
